This was one of our most interesting projects to date. The brief was to convert a small drawing room in a Grade 2 listed town house into a functional kitchen in keeping with the building.
The room presented a number of design challenges. None of the four walls provided a continuous flat surface. The 3.2m high ceilings meant it was important to get the right proportions for the kitchen. The fourth wall had a large French door, so the island had to be carefully sized to allow a smooth flow in the kitchen.
The hand crafted kitchen was designed with some interesting features, including the over cooker canopy, and curved corner cupboards.
Having waited for listed building consent, the project was delivered against a tight timeline to be ready for Christmas.
All in all, this was a fascinating project with results that pleased us almost as much as our clients!
